RUSSIAN TEA WITH PETRUSHKA

It's an imaginative introduction to the ballet! On Saturday, May 20, 2006 from 12 o'clock noon until 2 o'clock in the afternoon, Dance Theatre of Lynchburg ushers in the upcoming performances of the classic Russian character ballet, Petrushka, with a Russian Tea party. The Tea Party is one of a popular tearoom series held in the Dance Theatre of Lynchburg's Mezzanine Gallery. The series originated in 2005 and included a Winter Tea with the Sugar Rum Cherry. The Russian Tea with Petrushka begins with a festive activity for children then proceeds to a reading of the Petrushka story with guests seated at decorated tables topped with tea and tasty delights. The three endearing doll characters perform snippets from the classic story ballet; then the tea concludes with photographs, autographs and farewells. Bring your favorite teacup if you wish and don't forget your camera.
