Fall Dance Classes Now Enrolling

Dance Theatre of Lynchburg is now enrolling students in the 2004-2005 after-school program. Located in revitalized studios in historic downtown Lynchburg at 722 Commerce Street, Dance Theatre of Lynchburg has been recognized by the Virginia Commission for the Arts as a model community dance program. The dance curriculum includes ballet, pointe, modern, pilates, tap, and afro-Caribbean technique classes for children and adults. Additional classes include: drum circle, taekwondo, and ballroom dance.

Keith Lee, Artistic Director, brings a wealth of professional experience to Dance Theatre of Lynchburg as a former soloist with American Ballet Theatre and ballet master of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Supporting dance faculty includes: Kim Buhler, Pilates instructor; Kim Sheppard, rhythm tap instructor; and James & Thelma Mundy, ballroom dance instructors. Diana Iandoli, who specializes in the training of young concert dancers, joins Dance Theatre faculty this year. Guest artists visit throughout the year. Performance opportunities for students include a school wide production of “Petrushka”, a classic and festive story ballet, as well as various advanced level Repertory Ensemble productions.
