Join in the festivities of the season as Dance Theatre of Lynchburg presents The Ellington Nutcracker. Set to the music of legendary jazz artist, Duke Ellington, The Ellington Nutcracker tells the roaring twenties jazz-version of this well-known coming of age story. Under the direction of Keith Lee, Dance Theatre of Lynchburg's repertory ensemble and young dancers perform a bold American interpretation of this seasonal dance classic

  Dance Theatre of Lynchburg offers a sweet introduction to the ballet at the Winter Tea with the Sugar Rum Cherry. Guests will drink coffee and tea, enjoy art activities, taste holiday sweets, meet the Sugar Rum Cherry, and see sneak previews from The Ellington Nutcracker. Perfect for a child and adult duo, the tea-for-two tickets are priced at $15. Come as you dare. Dress as you like. Bring a friend and your favorite tea-cup.

  Follow Marie-Claire and the Nutcracker Sailor with their friends through the roaring twenties as they dance the Charleston, The Swanee Bottom, and Truckin'. Introduce yourself to Duke Ellington's exotic characters: the Sugar Rum Cherry, Arabesque Cookies, and Chinoiserie among others in this short, sweet and lively production of The Nutcracker. The seventy-five minute performances have been a holiday favorite for adults and children within the region since 2005. Tickets priced at $10.00 / $7.50 students and seniors, are available at Dance Theatre of Lynchburg, The Mezzanine Gallery & Cafe and Given's Books.
