Set to the music of legendary jazz artist, Duke Ellington, The Ellington Nutcracker tells the Harlem jazz version of the well-known coming of age story. See familiar characters in a new light: the Sugar Rum Cherry, Arabesque Cookies, Chinoiserie, the Volga Vootie and the Peanut Brittle Brigade. Under the direction of Keith Lee, the repertory ensemble and young dancers perform a bold American interpretation of this seasonal dance classic. Performances take place at the Appomattox Courthouse Theatre and Thoresen Theatre at R-MWC.
