Set to the music of legendary jazz artist, Duke Ellington, The Ellington Nutcracker tells the well-known coming of age story within a refreshing cultural perspective. Though set during the exuberant and high-spirited Harlem Renaissance, The Ellington Nutcracker remains true to the original storyline. See the familiar faces of Mother Ginger, the Sugar Rum Cherry, and of course the Arabian, Chinese and Russian dolls. Under the direction of Keith Lee, Dance Theatre of LynchburgÕs resident artists, repertory ensemble, and young dancers perform a bold interpretation of this American dance classic.
